Netflix are branching out further into the comic book world, with this adaptation of Gerard Way (yes, the former lead singer of My Chemical Romance)'s comic of the same name.

The Umbrella Academy is made up of seven people who were all born on the same day in 1989 to different, unconnected women (a total of 43 infants were born then) and were adopted by Richard Hargreaves, who trained them to one day save the world. With Hargreaves dead, the family - now in their 30s - must reunite to solve the mystery of their father's death and prevent a global apocalypse, all while struggling to get along with one another.

The first look images reveal the main cast, which includes Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, David Castañeda, Aidan Gallagher, Cameron Britton, and Mary J. Blige, with the show expected to arrive on Netflix in February.
