11 Times The Walking Dead Said F**k You To The Fans

3. Dragging Out Who Negan Killed

The second half of Season 6 built up to the arrival of Negan, gradually teasing his introduction and ramping up the sense of dread that came with it, until he finally stepped out of the shadows in the closing moments.

His arrival was pretty much perfect, from the swagger of Jeffrey Dean Morgan to the intensity of lining Rick's group up and deciding to kill one of them off. After a game of eeny-meeny-miny-mo, the victim was chosen, and Lucille put into action.

This was all great, apart from the choice to shoot it from the point of view of the person being attacked, meaning we had no idea who the victim was and, since this was the finale, wouldn't find out for another few months.

The Season 6 finale is one of the show's most controversial episodes, but it didn't get much better in the Season 7 premiere. As if the past few months weren't long enough to linger on the cliffhanger, the opening episode dragged out the death for another 20 minutes or so, before bashing in the skulls of Abraham and Glenn (funnily enough, the two favourites to die by that point).
