Before her days in True Detective or alongside Zac Efron in Baywatch, Daddarrio played the love interest of television's premiere rat-catcher Charlie Kelly.

In the season 8 episode ‘Charlie and Dee Find Love’, Daddarrio plays Ruby, who is involved in a car accident with her brother, Dee and Charlie. Ruby and Charlie share an instant connection and seemingly so does Ruby’s brother and Dee. It turns out that Ruby and her brother are part of a vastly wealthy family, which raises the suspicions of Dennis who, under the guise of helping Charlie, attempts to seduce Ruby.

Eventually, it’s revealed that Ruby’s brother was using Dee and Mac as part of a competition (think Dinner for Schmucks). However, in the background the Waitress’ life is falling apart without Charlie’s attention and she pleas on the phone for him to return to her life.

This is then revealed to have been part of Charlie’s Machiavellian scheme, as he rejects Ruby for the Waitress, despite the fact that she genuinely loved him and wasn’t involved in her brother’s insidious contest.

Whilst Charlie often seems like the innocent one in the gang, this episode proves that the gang are wholly terrible.
