By the late 90's and had become an international multi-media franchise. Starting in the second half of the 90€™s the Pokémon anime took over TV screens and kids€™ lives in general. Meaning €˜pocket monster€™ Pokémon really was a monster hit. The animated series followed Ash as he tried to capture the original 151 creatures with elemental powers (Gotta Cath €˜Em All). With his trusty side kick Pikachu €“ I choose you, along with Brock and Misty, Ash scours the world for these animal like creatures. Upon finding them he uses previously captured Pokemon to fight them, and then puts them in a little ball. All while battling the evil Team Rocket. It was impossible to miss Pokémania.
