12 Dumb Decisions In Friends We Can't Forgive

1. Rachel And Joey's Romance

Rachel Joey Kiss Friends
NBC

There is a good reason there was never any relationship between Rachel and Joey before the later years of the show. Simply put, there was no need for one. This was never truer than when the show actually pulled the trigger on the two getting together in season ten.

Through ten years, there had been very little sexual thoughts between Rachel and Joey, aside from a slight, short-lived crush, and with just one season left, did anyone truly believe they would actually end up together? They didn't fit, particularly when Ross was such a better match for Rachel.

Ultimately, their relationship lasted only three episodes into season ten, and was never brought up again. It begs the question, why bother with the story at all? Two of the friends coming together should have been a huge moment, like it was with Monica and Chandler, but this seemed like nothing more than giving the two something to do for a couple of episodes.

Looking back, it's difficult to see why anyone thought this would have ever been a good idea. Clearly, fans wanted Rachel to end up with Ross, and if that was always going to be the plan, why bother having her date Joey for three or four episodes?
