3. The Enterprise/The TARDIS (Star Trek: The Next Generation/Doctor Who)
Another twofer, this one more or less depends on what fandom you subscribe to, though there are definite pros and cons with both choices. The Enterprise, for instance, will provide you with a look at the best interstellar technology the 24th Century has to offer, as well as one of the finest crews. You could always plump for the NCC-1701 under the command of Captain James Tiberius Kirk, though the quality of conversation may be superior aboard its successor, the 1701-D. Data, like Spock, may not always "get" your jokes, but at least he might
make the effort to laugh at them. The Next Generation edition also has the added benefit of a holodeck, allowing you to experience any scenario you please (though remember that anyone could walk in on you at anytime). Have a cup of Earl Grey with Jean-Luc Picard or maybe share a drink with the mysterious Guinan; in any case, please resist the temptation to slap around young Wesley Crusher (sorry Wil Wheaton). On the other hand, the TARDIS offers unlimited if occasionally unpredictable conveyance around the whole of time and space. You'll have to put up sharing quarters with an eccentric, possibly lunatic Time Lord, who may - depending on his mood and incarnation - try and manipulate you into becoming the future of his species or else simply
attempt to throttle you (though, for the most part, he should be charming, caring, intelligent, jolly good company). You should also have a choice of bedrooms and utilities including a library, swimming pool, observatory (dependent on what's been ejected for the sake of thrust - escaping from black holes is tricky work). The console room may change abruptly - one moment Gothic cathedral, the next coral themed - as may your companion (explosively), but you'll never be short of an adventure. Allons-y!
