12 Ridiculous Ways TV Characters Were Brought Back From The Dead

5. A Centuries-Old Vampire Fed On Me and I Drowned In Shallow Water...Hold On, A Bit Of Mouth To Mouth Does Wonders For The Body €“ Buffy (Buffy The Vampire Slayer)

If this article was flipped on its head to become the 12 best ways TV characters were brought back from the dead, Buffy's resurrection in season six would absolutely be on there. Audiences may have not been over the moon with the darker, grimmer nature of the penultimate season, but the consequences of her return form the dead were astonishing; ripped out of heaven and enabling the First Evil to gain a footing in our world. At the other end of the scale we have Buffy's first death and resurrection in the season one finale 'Prophecy Girl'. Again the consequences of her death were brilliant; the opportunity for second slayer Kendra and subsequently Faith. But the manner in which it is handled is miles away from the magic and trauma of her second fatal ending. Bitten by the Master, allowing him to break free and start the second apocalypse of the year, Buffy's falls face down into a pool of water and she drowns, fulfilling the prophecy of her death written in the pages of the Pergamum Codex. In comes Angel and Xander, ready to save her. Even if you ignore the fact that Buffy has been dead for some considerable time, the manner in which she is brought back from the dead is just ridiculous (though in keeping with the lighter, camper tone of season one). Xander gives the slayer mouth to mouth for a couple of minutes and voila, she's back! If only all vampire / drowning victims could be brought back from death so easily....
