12 Star Trek Characters Who Changed The Most

1. Seven of Nine

Seven, much like Picard, is offered a deeper exploration of her character's journey thanks to her return in Star Trek Picard. Her arc on Voyager formed the basis of much of the show from season four onward, causing a slight amount of friction behind the scenes.

Seven was introduced as a character who would boost rating in a certain male demographic, yet thankfully the writing behind her allowed to her rise above this aspect quite quickly. Her struggles with integration into the largely human crew were many, while she also found it difficult to adapt to the structure of a starship.

The Doctor took her under his wing to help guide her social skills, yet even in this she both struggled and excelled, eventually entering into a relationship with Chakotay. This felt like a rushed story for both characters though, and has not been mentioned in Picard yet.

The biggest and most obvious change that she has gone through is her relaxed way of speaking and holding herself. The rigidity that came from the collective has all but vanished and her need to help others has outweighed all else. Elnor is very quickly taken with her and she becomes a de-facto Queen of the Ex-B's as she liberates them from the Romulans.

Going into the second season of Picard, she seems to now be a member of the crew, while still a Fenris Ranger. It remains to be seen how these two elements will work together but Seven's return and evolution has been one of the stronger elements of the franchise to date.
