12 Terrible TV Shows That Should Definitely Be Cancelled In 2014
7. Glee
Glee's creator Ryan Murphy has reassured exhausted fans that Glee's sixth season will be its last, but it's difficult to see why he's even bothering anymore. Glee's first season back in 2009 was a refreshingly cynical take on schmaltzy teen musical fare like High School Musical, and for a while it seemed like an unstoppable TV juggernaut. Fast forward to season five and Glee has succumbed to the melodrama which it once mocked. The show now splits its time between McKinley High, where it follows a number of new characters in whom it only occasionally shows any interest, and New York, where Lea Michele's Rachel and Chris Colfer's Kurt are pursuing their dreams. Whenever the New York storylines become engaging, the high school ones plummet to new lows. The caricatures of the first season were amusing but hardly the kind of nuanced characters who could sustain a long-running series. Glee has been coming apart at the seams for some time now, and cancellation this year would be met with gratitude.
