4. She Doesn't Want Kids
Hendricks has been married to husband Geoffrey Arend for over five years, and so it's unsurprising that many interviewers have asked her about whether the pair plans to have any children, because that's basically what's expected, right? Ever one to be fiercely independent, though, Hendricks has confirmed her stance that she and Arend likely won't be having children. She said, Weve decided that we are not really interested in having children. It seems like its expected that youd want to have kids...Its just very normal for people to say, Well, when you guys have kids And then when I say, Actually I dont think were going to do that, people will say, Oh, you say that now'...It doesnt bother me, though. And, you know, theres a small chance I could change my mind. Though many will think it a shame that Hendricks' evidently potent genes won't be passed on to another generation, she has noted that publically admitting her decision has made her something of an unlikely figurehead for women who don't want kids. She said that many women have said to her, "Thank you for speaking out, my family don't understand why I don't want kids", and if it's good enough for someone as idolised as Christina, why not everyone else?
