13 Reasons Why Season 2 Review: 5 Ups And 7 Downs
1. Closure For Clay (And For Hannah)
Hannah's death had a huge effect on Clay. Even though he realised that he didn't know everything about her, Hannah is always going to special to him. During Season 1, he tried to come to terms with her death — and the reasons why she killed herself — but he held himself personally responsible, believing that he could've saved her.
This guilt eats away at him during Season 2. His relationship with Skye suffers, he's worried about the trial, and his resentment of Bryce Walker gets the better of him. As a result of this guilt, he starts to see a ghostly manifestation of Hannah (we'll get to that later).
But Clay ultimately manages to regain control of his life in the final episode, and he does so by saying goodbye to his one true love. The funeral service is exactly what our protagonist needs, as he bids farewell to the girl that changed his life, while reminding her ghostly counterpart that he will always love her.
