Jessica's storyline this season was, in many ways, an extension of her arc last season as she attempted to change the way in which Liberty High treated its students. She did so through her new role as president of the student council - a role that gave her the ability to speak publicly about surviving sexual assault while also giving her the power to create a safe space for other survivors.

That said, while this certainly gifted her with the means to continue last season's journey, it also set the stage for a new one, as it was through that safe space (H.O./Hands Off) that she learned about other survivors' experiences and, in doing so, truly realised how she could use her position to inspire people - regardless of the cost.

Thus, while Jessica was responsible for finally forcing Liberty High to be held accountable for its actions, she too learned a lot. Her discovery of what happened to Tyler widened her views while her realisation that Charlie wasn't all that bad helped her to see that not everyone is guilty through association - something that she was reminded of through her own relationship with Justin.

In the end, Jessica achieved her ultimate goal - she stood up to patriarchy and in the process, stood tall.
