Although Cowboy Bebop is set in the future and there are plenty of elements that make it very far-fetched, the action in it isn't one of them. 

Spike Spiegel, the main character of the noir-influenced anime, doesn't have any special powers or really any special weapons to battle his enemies; he's just really tough with some an awesome hybrid of American boxing and Kung Fu moves.

During the final fight in the underrated Cowboy Bebop movie, Spike takes on the main protagonist in an incredibly cool and stylized battle that's as slick as the show's outstanding soundtrack. It's one for the ages.
