9. The Gang Make Drinking Seem Integral To Living
Example Episode: Chardee MacDennis: The Game of Games In season seven, the gang have no plans and decide to stay indoors and play their favourite board game. It's one of their own devising, and it consists of three levels, a whole lot of drinking, Frank going to 'prison' in a dog kennel, and Dee and Dennis winning the game for the 19th time in a row. While the gangs drinking is continuous throughout all seasons, and often excessive, you can't help but wish you were part of it so you could play with them. It's not only the Chardee MacDennis game that looks like fun; it's their whole openess to drinking at any time of the day. Sure, you know it could be dangerous - Charlie is quite obviously an alcoholic in later episodes - but you still wish that just for once, real life made it feasible for you to enjoy all day drinking and not suffer the consequences.
I love Stephen King and music festivals; I eat my toast upside down; I daydream about getting married probably a bit too much; and I wish every day for a pet sausage dog puppy (who never materialises – sob).
