If you can’t make fun of yourself, life is going to seem a whole lot longer and boring.

Thankfully, the writers of Bojack Horseman managed to cast a voice actor willing to not only elbow themselves in the ribs a few times but actively push the writers to get “meaner” with the jokes.

If a replacement voice actor came in to play Jessica Biel, it would have felt half-baked and cheap. But thankfully Jessica is on board and she's such fun throughout.

Playing the fictional ex-wife of Mr. Peanutbutter, it’s great to watch her character’s stiff but deluded attitude bounce off the jolliest character in the show.

Incorporating the real Jessica into the show’s version, it’s also hilarious to see her earnestly speak on her role in the very important gay rights movie "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry", riff into how much fun she has with her “just a friend” Justin Timberlake, or be asked if even she can remember if she was in The Prestige or The Illusionist.
