15 Best TV Moments Of 2017

7. Ofglen's Rebellion - The Handmaid's Tale

The Handmaid's Tale was a brilliant yet harrowing series, best exemplified in the third episode, Late. That made the biggest and most horrific change to the book, with the genital mutilation of Alexis Bledel's Ofglen.

That itself is a powerful moment, and it's the memory of that which makes this one even better. In Faithful, Ofglen - now known as Ofsteven - steals a car from one of the guards and proceeds to take it for a bit of a joyride, leading the other guards on a merry dance.

Joyride really is the operative word, as there's a huge grin plastered on her face, and it's a moment of catharsis, power, and empowerment. It might be a brief respite, but after everything she's been through it's a wholly welcome one, and a rare moment of fun (even if she does kill someone) in a bleak series.
