15 Doctor Who Actors Who Died In 2021

2. Clifford Rose

The fabulously-bearded (and fabulously-named) Clifford Rose has a single onscreen credit in the Whoniverse, and a pretty great one at that.

He played Captain Rorvik in the 1981 serial Warriors' Gate, clashing with Tom Baker's Fourth Doctor before inadvertently dooming himself with an explosive backblast.

Reportedly, Rose was also considered for a role in the Sixth Doctor serial Revelation Of The Daleks (as the character Orcini), and while that ultimately didn't pan out, he did return to the Whoniverse in 2009, voicing Major Treptow in the Big Finish audio drama The Scapegoat.

He passed away on 6 November, at 92 years of age.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
