15 Greatest Episodes Of The Walking Dead
13. Spend (Season 5, Episode 14)
When a show is as full of death as The Walking Dead, it takes a lot to stand-out. When it comes to Noah (Tyler James Williams), there are no issues in that department. His death, caused by the selfish actions of Nicholas (Michael Traynor), remains one of the show's most iconic and traumatising moments, as Glenn is forced to watch his friend be torn apart.
Outside of Noah's iconic demise, the rest of the episode can be tough to remember. On re-watches, it's great to be reminded that the whole thing is just as grisly, intense and brilliant as Noah's final stand.
On the one hand, Spend has the Survivors trying to integrate with Alexandria after so long together on the road. Abraham has taken up a job at a construction site, where he shows off just how badass and heroic he is; Rick finds his feud with Pete Anderson (Corey Brill) rapidly increasing; and Eugene, on the fateful run with Glenn, Noah and Nicholas, attempts to prove himself to Tara (Alanna Masterson).
It's a staggeringly intense and action-packed episode, made all the more fearful by the tone, which promises tragedy right from the get-go and delivers with ease.
