15 Greatest Episodes Of The Walking Dead

14. Morning Star (Season 10, Episode 11)

The Walking Dead
AMC

Season ten is an absolute rollercoaster of emotions, character pay-offs and constant tension. With the Whisperers introduction in season nine (and the infamous pike death scene in that season's penultimate episode), the Survivors were confronted with their most animalistic, unruly villains yet, and that's really saying something.

Throughout the Whisperer War storyline, all signs have been leading to this episode. Morning Star is a perfect blend of character, violence, imagery and suspense. Everyone involved in the episode and the coming conflict gets a moment to shine, and when the time comes for the Battle of Hilltop to commence, it doesn't disappoint.

Stand-out moments within the episode include Daryl's (Norman Reedus) interactions with both Ezekiel (Khary Payton), who is sick with cancer, and Judith (Cailey Fleming), with whom the bowman shares an unshakeable bond. On top of that, Morning Star also features Negan's Whisperer mask, a brief Carol (Melissa McBride) and Ezekiel reunion, and Eugene's (Josh McDermitt) breakthrough with the mysterious Stephanie.

With its emotional investments paying off with every ounce of dialogue and the slow motion action scenes leading to some of the show's most impressive imagery, Morning Star is currently the strongest entry season ten has to offer.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Be excellent to each other.
