3. Alien: Earth

It Welcome to Derry Chris Chalk
FX

The Alien franchise originally promised us a trip to Earth with 1992's Alien 3. Of course, that was until Alien 3 underwent various production problems and overhauls, resulting in the film instead taking place on the Fury 161 foundry.

Sure, the Alien vs. Predator pictures did bring the action to our planet, but those films were nothing if not divisive, with many an Alien fan choosing to completely ignore those two movies. And now, Earth is again in the spotlight with the Alien: Earth prequel series on the horizon from Fargo's brilliant Noah Hawley.

Here, a group of soldiers is sent to explore a strange spaceship that crashlands on Earth, with those soldiers obviously biting off a little more than they can chew when they come face-to-face with the otherworldly delights of the Alien franchise.

Currently awaiting an official premiere date, Alien: Earth will land on Hulu and Disney+, featuring a cast that includes Sydney Chandler (Don't Worry Darling), Alex Lawther (The End of the F***ing World), Essie Davies (The Babadook), and the ever-great Timothy Olyphant.
