15 Nastiest Ever Moments In Sons Of Anarchy

8. Otto And The Crucifix

Here we go. There€™s a valid argument to be made that an article like this could be filled with nothing but scenes of a sensitive nature involving incarcerated MC member Otto Delaney, played with unflinching and bloody dedication by series showrunner Kurt Sutter. Otto€™s did plenty for SAMCRO after he was sent down in the 1990s, becoming the club€™s voice and strong right arm in Stockton Prison. In fact, his original sentence of six years was extended to thirty simply due to the violence he meted out on behalf of his brothers while inside. In episode ten of season five, a hospitalised Otto, hopelessly deranged through his injuries, trauma from his wife Luann€™s death and his apparent betrayal by the club, elects to turn state€™s evidence against the Sons Of Anarchy, but later changes his mind. The trouble is, Otto isn€™t playing with a full deck by the end. He decides to force the feds to scrap his witness evidence, and persuades Jackson€™s wife Tara to smuggle into prison his deceased wife€™s crucifix, ostensibly to grieve properly. He then proceeds to horribly murder an innocent bedside nurse, stabbing her over and over with the crucifix in a vicious shower of blood. Otto€™s actions bring about yet more trouble for the club €“ for Tara especially, as she unknowingly brought him the murder weapon. But the also bring about his own end, finally and for good, after long seasons of suffering in jail, as the violent ex US Marshall brother of his victim comes for revenge.
