15 Questions We Need Answering About 2016's Most Anticipated TV Shows

3. Can It Top Daredevil And Jessica Jones? - Luke Cage

Netflix

So far, Netflix and Marvel are 3-3. Both seasons of Daredevil have been superb, dark, violent series that totally raised the bar in terms of superhero TV and fight sequences in any genre (and better than a lot we get on the big screen too), and Jessica Jones was even better, a brilliantly acted noir-inspired series that wasn't afraid to deal with issues such as rape and PTSD.

It's all building to The Defenders, and next up is Luke Cage. Again, it promises something different, moving the setting from Hell's Kitchen to Harlem, and being inspired by 90s hip-hop, 70s Blaxpoitation films, and real-life modern day events, while having some familiar trappings as well (superpowers, crime fighting, awesome action sequences).

There's a lot to dive into with Luke Cage, such as who created him (we had a hint of his origins in a trailer), what happens between him and Cottonmouth, and just how many clothes does he have to buy, but perhaps the biggest question is whether or not it can match the quality of its predecessors, and perhaps even top them?
