15 Small Details You Only Notice Rewatching Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Clone Wars Season 7
Disney

One of the most surprising and fun aspects of the show was its ability to make Anakin Skywalker so cool and likeable after the character building that took place in the prequel trilogy.

Whilst the films focused on the young Jedi's descent to darkness more than anything else, The Clone Wars was able to take more of an in-depth look at his more fun and endearing side.

In the ninth episode of season seven, Anakin swoops into battle to help Obi-Wan, and in doing so "surrenders" to the droids that are attacking them. This is all a rouse, of course, allowing Captain Rex and his men to launch a sudden and devastating attack.

The scene shows Anakin walking toward the enemy unarmed and outmatched, and pays homage to a similar scene in Rian Johnson's The Last Jedi, in which Luke confronts Kylo Ren and his forces.

It draws a striking comparison between the two, and once more reminds fans of the tragedy that is to come.
