15 Star Trek LEGO Sets Everyone Wants

9. Runabout

LEGO Star Trek Voyager
CBS

Made for mini-figs, the Runabout set needs to come with sticker options to label it up as your preferred choice.

This one would need to be a fairly sizeable build to bear some of the hallmarks of the larger Lego Group sets around. The central pod would need to detach for mission-specific requirements as well as having the rear section include the crew area, as featured in Timescape. It's the scale here that works perfectly in The Lego Group's favour.

The cockpit should provide enough room for two minifigs, with fans likely to demand the full four stations and transporter pad.  As with the Home Alone house, for instance, the Runabout would need to have that modular element with the ability to remove the roof easily and mess about with the interior. The most obvious accessory here would have to be the distinctive rollbar added to differentiate these ships if more than one Runabout was on screen.

As for the mini-figs here, there would have to be a Sisko (season four, of course) and an O'Brien with backup from Kira and Odo. While it is tempting to include a Quark here, that might be one to hold back for a Deep Space Nine set. O'Brien would need to have a toolkit, while Sisko might have an Orb of the Prophets in tow.

A Star Trek fan from birth, I love to dive into every aspect of the franchise in front and behind the screen. There's something here that's kept me interested for the best part of four decades! Now I'm getting back into writing and using Star Trek as my first line of literary attack. If I'm not here on WhatCulture then you're more than welcome to come and take a look at my blog, Some Kind of Star Trek at http://SKoST.co.uk or maybe follow me on Twitter as @TheWarpCore. Sometimes I force myself not to talk about Star Trek.
