16 Best Guest Stars In Red Dwarf

10. Don Warrington - Commander Binks

NIRVANAH CRANE 2
BBC

Before adverts for coffee and being the commissioner in Death in Paradise among other things, Don Warrington played the hologram, Commander Binks.

The role was short to say the least but definitely played with aplomb. Warrington's straight laced style works well with Craig Charles’s comedic wit and the character of Lister. His inventorying of the Starbug crew was worked with a dismissive, almost condescending tone. This was risen to and the entertaining “Binks to Enlightnement” segment created a series of moments that are well remembered.

Throughout all this he remained unflustered and demure, even when Lister reports on him as having “brains in the anal region”, which could make a lesser actor corpse. For this interaction he makes the grade as a fantastic guest star.
