17 Shows To Binge-Watch Before They Return This Fall

10. Transparent

Amazon Prime, a streaming service to rival Netflix, has quietly been making some waves with its original programming, without quite achieving the hype shows like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black have for its opposition.

Its biggest success so far is Transparent, a comedy-drama following the lives of an LA family after the revelation that their father, played by Jeffrey Tambor, is transgender. How they deal with that, and the other secrets that are spilled as a result, provide the show with plenty of comedic and dramatic moments (although it is considered a comedy).

Tambor is superb in the role as the head of the family who finally opens up about identifying as a woman, and the way the show handles this and the idea of gender identity is judged perfectly, and both behind and in front of the camera has been blazing a trail for transgender people in the TV industry and perhaps even society as a whole.
