17 Shows To Binge-Watch Before They Return This Fall

11. The Knick

Cinemax, the sister channel of HBO, isn€™t quite the established big hitter in the TV world that its sibling is, more well-known for showing movies, but it has quietly established a couple of strong shows, such as Alan Ball€™s Banshee, and medical drama The Knick.

With a large amount of such medical shows on television, what is it that really makes The Knick stand out from the crowd? Four words: Steven. Soderbergh. Clive. Owen.

When Soderbergh announced in 2013 his intention to step away from making feature films there were worries about him not directing again, but soon after he announced he€™d be behind the camera for the 10-part series The Knick, with Owen on board to star.

Detailing life at a fictionalised version of the real Knickerbocker Hospital in New York, it contained plenty of gore and wasn€™t exactly a happy drama, but possessed all the cinematic quality you€™d expect given those involved. Season 2 will air this fall, so you can catch up just in the knick of time€
