2. Saul Gone (Season 6, Episode 13)

Better Call Saul
AMC

How do you end such a complex, rich story? The answer: You do it like Better Call Saul did with its extended finale, Saul Gone, which closes off the tale of Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman/Gene Takovic in the best and only way it could've ended.

Arrested for his crimes after the demise of Walter White, Saul tricks the courts into giving him a lenient sentence despite the severity of his actions, only for Jimmy to creep back into the picture and accept his true fate in order to save Kim from an unhappy ending.

With a heartbreaking central performance for Bob Odenkirk and striking emotional poignancy, Saul Gone allows Jimmy to confront his past, first by renouncing Saul, then by saving Kim and admitting fault in the death of his late brother.

It's a slow and mournful finale, closing Jimmy's story off with great fan service and surprising simplicity, and concluding the overarching tale of the epic Breaking Bad universe without flaw.
