20 Best Netflix Original Shows

Despite only running for two seasons (a third season is possible, so long as producer and director David Fincher can find the time to return to the fold), Joe Penhall's gripping psychological thriller Mindhunter has acquired quite the fanbase since its debut.

Following the exploits of a group of FBI agents (Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany and Anna Torv) as they interview a number of real-life serial killers in hopes of understanding the inner workings of a murderer, the show is built around a decidedly creepy atmosphere, dark tone and a set of remarkably sinister performances.

Mindhunter digs into the psychology of its subjects, which includes Edmund Kemper, Charles Manson and David Berkowitz, amongst others. It's meticulously detailed and loaded with great character development and absorbing dialogue, perfectly mixing mystery with drama and splashes of horror and malice.

Here's to hoping David Fincher can take time out of his moviemaking schedule to offer fans another slice of macabre intrigue.
