20 Best Superman TV Episodes Of All Time

4. "For The Man Who Has Everything" - Justice League Unlimited

Superman Lois Clark
Warner Bros.

Adapted from the Alan Moore story of the same name, "For the Man Who Has Everything" is easily Superman's finest hour in JLU.

Having been ambushed by a 'gift' from Mongul, a cosmic plant known as the Black Mercy, Superman is transported into a painfully real dream world - a world where Krypton never exploded and he's got a beautiful family. It's everything he could have asked for.

But as Batman and Wonder Woman battle Mongul inside the Fortress, the Black Mercy's grip on Superman begins to weaken and so does the dream world it created. As Superman delivers a heartbreaking farewell speech to the son that never existed, the DCAU Man of Steel continues his incredible, nearly 10-year evolution that began in Superman: The Animated Series.

Even the music connects all the way back to STAS, as the same music that played when Krypton exploded in that series plays when the planet goes up in flames here. All of it just meshes together in a masterful and brilliant piece of animation.
