20 Best TV Shows Of 2022

18. Peaky Blinders (Season 6)

Severance Adam Scott
BBC

It's likely you forgot Peaky Blinders ended this year, such has been the endlessness of 2022, but here we are. And what a brilliant finale it was, putting Tommy Shelby and his embattled family at the centre of their biggest, deadliest game of deceit, politics and organised crime yet.

Tracking Tommy's personal odyssey to find some peace after years of tragedy, the season (dedicated to Helen McCrory, whose absence is definitely felt but beautifully incorporated) is darker and more daring than previous years, but also more cathartic, as Tommy seeks to mend bridges and face up to his failings.

Anchored by Cillian Murphy's fiery, understated performance, Peaky Blinders may not be ending quite yet, but if the Shelby clan's drama ended here, it would have be the best send-off any fan could have possibly asked for, ticking all the boxes whilst still finding ways to swing for the fences.
