Perhaps the only show HBO truly screwed up. Critically acclaimed and beloved by a legion of fans, the violent Western drama was cancelled due to low ratings, a decision which received a backlash to no avail. Not just all brawn, Deadwood was a smart allegory for predatory American capitalism and it's still missed to this day.
Films and specials have been rumoured but Deadwood, does appear to be dead.
