20 More TV Acting Performances That Are Totally Flawless
12. Jodie Comer - Killing Eve
Killing Eve is nothing short of an actor's paradise for stars Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer, who play two radically different roles but capture the chemistry, insanity and dark hilarity of their character's dangerous relationship without fault.
Oh plays conflicted MI5 agent Eve Polastri, whilst Comer portrays the psychopathic assassin who Eve is forced to pursue, Villanelle. Of the two, Comer wears the crown and gives the best performance (though it could be argued either way, to be honest), striking a perfect balance between the assassin's twisted brilliance, emotional distress and frequent bursts of insanity.
Villanelle is simultaneously ingenious, noticeably unhinged and arrogant; she's also whip-smart, reckless and dangerous. Comer finds a way to explore all of these traits and more, as her cat-and-mouse relationship with Eve deepens and her psyche begins to unravel in increasingly strange and intimidating ways.
With one more season of the brilliant dark action dramedy left to go, there should be no doubt in anyone's mind that Comer will continue to impress.
