20 Most Bizarre Moments In Doctor Who History

2. The Newly Regenerated Sixth Doctor Strangles His Companion

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcwiXY7YCyY It's tempting to say that all of The Twin Dilemma was a surreal mistake but even worse than all the migraine-inducing colours in the costumes was the enormous misstep of having the Doctor attack his own travelling companion. His throttling of Peri is so utterly bizarre because, without any reasonable cause, the audience has been robbed of a hero with one or two minor personality defects and given, in his place, a protagonist made up almost entirely of horrific, unwatchable flaws with only faint glimmerings of the man they were hoping to see. Also, it was not a smart move to cast twins with lisps when their characters' names are, apparently, "Womulas and Wemus".
