20 Most Bizarre Moments In Doctor Who History

15. "Pigbin Josh" From The Claws Of Axos

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyY8CRuy0H8 1971's The Claws of Axos is one of the finest stories for the Third Doctor, featuring an excellent new alien species and another tremendous turn by Delgado's Master. Rather undercutting in the numerous successful elements of the story is the tramp character, Pigbin Josh, played by Derek Ware. This tramp character - and there's more than one in the Pertwee era as will become clearer later in this list - is best known for his frequent utterances of "Oo-arr" and a considerable amount of indistinct mumbling.

Here's a direct quote of the inimitable Pigbin's "dialogue":

"Furge thangering muck witchellers rock throbblin' this time o' day. Ur bin oughta gone put thickery blarmdasted zones about, gordangun, diddenum? Havver froggin' law onnum, shouldnum? Eh? Eh? Arn I?"

Pigbin has the distinction of being the first human victim of the Axons. His Shakespearean speech upon being attacked and absorbed is as follows:

"Oo-arr? Oo-arr? Aarrggghhh!"

Are there moments in Doctor Who more bizarre than that? Oh yes, there certainly are...
