Westworld isn’t especially flashy with its special effects, preferring to keep things feeling grounded. That even extends to the brief glimpse of young Ford during a flashback to the early days of the park, which gives us a flawless recreation of a young, skinny Anthony Hopkins.

The CGI is disturbing good, causing many to pause and just marvel at the job. It also serves to contrast Ford with his creations; they may stay the same, but the god of the park certainly doesn’t. Computer de-aging effects almost always look iffy – think of Patrick Stewart’s nightmarish melting face in X-Men Origins – but this look at Ford is probably the finest example of it to date.
