What is with actors and car commercials? There really is something about them that can attract the most random of actors to do their bidding. Case in point John Cusack and Chevrolet. Cusack is undoubtedly cool as hell, but part of his cool comes from his everyman, romantic charm. Perhaps its just me but he doesnt strike me as the kind of guy that would be in the hyper masculine environment of Daytona 500, or of cars in general. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUE8jW93VN0 Still you do have to admit that his voice matches the action wonderfully. So again credit where credit is due.
