20 Things You Didn't Know About Scrubs

13. The X-Ray Mistake

For the first five seasons of the show, the X-Ray that appears at the end of the opening credits was hung backward. Although he reportedly received a lot of flack and mockery for this blunder, Bill Lawrence has been quick to say that this was a conscious decision, put in place to represent how inexperienced and even out of their element the interns were.

In the season five episode "My Urologist", Dr Kim Briggs (Elizabeth Banks) enters the show, and appears in the credits to turn the X-Ray around, saying: "That's backwards. Been bugging me for years."

From then-on, the X-Ray was shown to be the right way until season eight, when it inexplicably goes back to facing the wrong way. It goes back to facing the right away again in season nine, when the show was issued the subtitle "Med School."
