25 New And Returning TV Shows To Watch This Summer

If you're looking for another 1960s period piece to fill in the void left by Mad Men, The Astronaut Wives Club might be worth giving a try. Based on the novel of the same name by Lily Koppel, the show will tell the story of the wives of some of the space age's famous astronauts. The show was created by Stephanie Savage, who also developed the CW show Gossip Girl. 

The first season will consist of only 10 episodes on ABC and star Dominique McElligott, Yvonne Strahovski, Odette Annable and Joanna García.

This show was actually supposed to premiere last summer, but it was pushed back a year so the network could make some creative changes. That could be a sign of problems, but the show definitely seems like at least the pilot might be worth giving a shot.
