Since their first appearance on that cold winter's night back in December 1963, the Daleks have firmly established themselves as the Doctor's most formidable and deadly adversaries. Unless, that is, you're watching Series 5, in which case they're about as intimidating as David Tennant's haircut. Even the writers have admitted defeat with this almighty paradigm of persistent pepperpots. They made their overly hyped debut in Victory of the Daleks and fizzled out of the show's mythology even quicker than they came into it. Which was pretty quick. "Exterminate!" indeed.
