Andy Devine
ITV

Born Peter Devine on 28th February 1947, later changing his name to Andy, appeared in the Third Doctor serial Frontier In Space. He played one of the Draconians, a race of Reptilian humanoids who possessed an Empire to rival the humans themselves. The serial is largely remembered as being the final outing for Roger Delgado's incarnation of the Master.

This role was one of Devine's earliest, though the role he would be best remembered for is that of Shadrach Dingle, brother of the patriarch Zak, in the long-running soap Emmerdale. He first appeared in 2000 and remained in the show until 2010. He would also appear in Russell T. Davies' Queer As Folk for all ten episodes.

Devine passed away on January 27th from pneumonia. He acquired the illness while in the hospital recovering from an accidental fall at his home. His death wasn't publically announced until May of 2022.
