A middle-aged rock 'n' roller played by Denis Leary has always wanted to be rich and famous but he has failed miserably to date - yet that is not going to stop him from still continuing to try. This FX-commissioned 10-episode series was created by and stars Leary, who plays "Johnny Rock" of the early-1990s' band "The Heathens" and who wants to reunite them. It is expected to feature original music and guest appearances by real rock stars. The Selling Point: Its all listed there in the name, really. The Concerns: Can the humour hold out for the show's entirety? Let's hope so, because the premise sounds fantastic.
13. Scream (June 2015)
"Scream 4" (2011) was an absolute abomination - yet there seems to remain enough interest for the franchise to be re-born as a 10-episode television series. Somewhat strangely it is MTV who have picked up the rights for this slasher-horror concept and, having originally intended to release it in the middle of 2014, it is set to air in June. With a YouTube video that goes viral, teenagers in Lakewood soon realise that this has prompted a murder that has uncovered a horrific past - and then the traditional Scream slasher concept returns in all its glory. The Selling Point: It the Scream-film concept but made for TV - something that will immediately draw in the viewers. Slashers are easy-watching horror programmes, and MTV seem to know that. The Concerns: Scream 4 still ominously looms large in the memory, and its on MTV - plus the fact it's already been delayed on several occasions sets the alarm bells ringing.
