16. Bad Wolf/The Parting Of The Ways

The first Ninth Doctor story on our list is his last ever, in this first finale of the modern series in which the Doctor has to face off against the Dalek Emperor and his army. While it's forever sad that the fantastic Christopher Eccleston only did one year in the TARDIS, fans can still be thankful that he bowed out with such a fitting swansong. Some of the mickey-takes on reality shows of the time might be a tad dated now but the Daleks feel like a proper threat and there's some great thematic closure for this character when he refuses to wipe out an innocent race to kill the Daleks, just like he (thought) he did in the Time War. Fantastic stuff!
