Jigsaw himself turned up in the seventh season of The X-Files, in the episode Brand X - an examination of the fictional tobacco company Morley (favourite brand of the Smoking Man), inspired by the film The Insider. In the episode, the company finds itself in legal hot water after a test batch of cigarettes begin killing smokers in the most horrific of ways: eggs from tobacco beetles are able to survive the manufacturing process, and wind up inhaled by smokers later to hatch and eat their way out from within. Bell plays Darryl Weaver, the only surviving member of the test group trying out the new smokes. His gruff, gravelly presence is perfect for the episode, which is one of the darker outings of the show's seventh year.
