30 Stars You Forgot Appeared On The X-Files

9. B.D. Wong

B.D. Wong has had a long and storied career: Law and Order: SVU, HBO's Oz, Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, and now Gotham as Hugo Strange. Before any of that, however, he appeared on The X-Files as Detective Glen Chao in season three's Hell Money. This is the episode that often gets remembered as having Lucy Liu appear (David Duchovny and Liu were dating at the time), as the sick daughter of a man caught in a lottery where the losers are forced to have their organs harvested for sale on the black market, but it's Wong who actually ties the episode together. Wong's Detective Chao is a man caught between cultures, his native Chinese, America, and his profession as a police officer, which causes many of his own people to be suspicious of him. The fact that he has also been offering protection for the men behind the "body parts pyramid scheme" - the concept behind the episode - does nothing to lessen the impact of his fate by the episode's end.
