6 Missing Game Of Thrones Characters That Should Return In Season 6
3. Rickon Stark
The Greatjon could also return to the fray in tandem with a different Stark, Rickon. His destination was explicitly stated as Last Hearth (the seat of House Umber) by his wildling companion Osha when the pair were last seen splitting away from Rickon's elder brother Bran towards the end of season three.
This was when the twosome were last seen in the books also, though there they instead travel to the barren island of Skagos, located off of the eastern coast of the Wall, where cannibals and unicorns dwell.
Roose and Ramsay Bolton are both aware that Bran and Rickon remain alive following Theon Greyjoy's admittance that he didn't kill the pair, as widely believed, in previous seasons. Since one of their henchman, Locke, was killed by Hodor in pursuit of Bran in season four, however, they haven't taken any action to try and hunt them down further. Presumably this is something that they will do once again in conjunction with searching for Sansa, as any surviving Starks not in their captivity are a threat to their hold over Winterfell.
Presumably, a combination of Rickon and/or Sansa could be used to unite The North (and possibly the Riverlands, given that the pair also have Tully blood) against the Boltons, giving them a fresh threat to deal with now that Stannis seems well and truly done for.
