3. Add A Little Help From Friends
Iron Fist is part of a larger character universe and should be proud of that fact. Of course when done wrong, cameos can be gratuitous and serve as inappropriate distraction from the inner-verse of the show itself.
But this wasn't the case with Danny Rand and Colleen's appearance in Luke Cage. They served to give some well needed advice and help out as good friends should. We also had a guest appearance from Foggy of Daredevil fame to offer legal assistance. Plus there was a brief name drop of Karen Page, and Jessica Jones' nemesis Killgrave. As for that damn dirty Turk, well what did audiences expect?.
A little more of the same would suit nicely for Iron Fist Season 2, not as a ratings-plummet rescue attempt but an enriching reminder of the bigger Defenders picture. Resulting interactions can be extremely entertaining, and represent a show's merit as it stands proudly and confidently alongside one of its many peers. So who could turn up to help out this time around? Jessica? Misty? Could a reformed Frank Castle be out of the question? Or how about a chance encounter with The Devil of Hell's Kitchen himself?
