7 Ups & 5 Downs From The Arrowverse In 2019
2. Crisis Comes At A Cost
Supergirl aside, the current seasons of the Arrowverse shows are mostly better than their predecessors, but it's clear that the production teams have been tightening their belts in anticipation for Crisis On Infinite Earths.
A crossover that requires plenty of antimatter waves, Shadow Demons and multiverse-traversing, it's understandable that the-powers-that-be would be a little more careful when it comes to spending their budget - hence why we haven't seen anything too large scale outside of a few moments. However, it's clear that this isn't all they're taking into account.
Have you noticed how Killer Frost has now suppressed her own voice echo so that she can appear more often? What about how the effects of Laurel's Canary Cry has only appeared on-screen once (she's used it plenty this season but we only hear it or see the after-effects)?
Yeah, it's clear that the showrunners are being more cautious when it comes to the little things too. Unfortunately, sometimes it's the little things that count.
