It takes a lot to stand up to craziness of Chang, and one of the few who had what it takes was his former boss Sergeant Nuñez. Only appearing in the first few episodes of Season Three, Nuñez was the perfect straight man to Chang, and probably one of the sanest people on the Greendale campus.

With the rest of his security team getting fired, Nuñez stays on as Sergeant in exchange for a SCUBA certification. The poor sergeant never does get his qualification, as Chang takes it a step too far by starting a fire in the security office. His decision to get out of Greendale while he could means he gains our respect.

The Sergeant is played by Mel Rodriguez, who is perhaps even better known for appearing in The Last Man on Earth, On Becoming a God in Central Florida, and Better Call Saul.
