House Of Cards is worth your Netflix subscription alone. The antithesis of The West Wing, the show charts the rise and rise of the very worst of humanity; Frank Underwood and his 'Lady Macbeth' Claire. What makes this show so engaging is that you have to immerse yourself his world, piecing together his actions until his plan becomes clear. A moment from one episode will pay off several episodes later and the show trusts you to pay attention to all those cunning little snippets of information. It is not a show that you can dip into - it's why it is best suited to binge viewing that Netflix provides - but if you keep up the payoff is immense. This show does make you question yourself as a viewer. We've enjoyed every moment of House Of Cards, watching narcissistic bad guy Frank Underwood using every dirty, Machiavellian trick in the book to trample over the good guys and get to the top. Heroes lose in this show, but that's part of the fun. But you have to ask yourself... didn't you want Frank Underwood to succeed every time? (It helps that Kevin Spacey gives the performance of his career). You become absorbed in his thirst for power, everyone be damned, even if that questions your motivation as a viewer. There's always a chance to redeem yourself. Considering how high he has come, the fall is going to be spectacular and just as fun to watch.
